Our current documentary, built on firsthand accounts from Black residents across the Bay Area: families, neighborhoods, work, community building, displacement, and how the region has changed. The San Jose and Milpitas project uses the same interview approach.

Midnight Train (2022), Trailer

A Black family's story of escaping racial terror during the Great Migration, built around firsthand family history. It premiered with a discussion with the filmmakers afterward, student interns handled filming, editing, and outreach, and more than 1,500 students in six schools had seen it by March 2025.

A zine researched, written, and designed by our student interns.

Diagnosing Healthcare (2026), Trailer

Black patients, physicians, and advocates talk about race and the health care system. The film draws on about 70 interviews, 20 student interns worked on it, it won two Best Documentary awards in 2026, and it was recognized by the Silicon Valley African Film Festival in San Jose.
